Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Cost Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of product costs and inventory valuation in our ERP system. You will collaborate across multiple departments—including Supply Chain, R&D, Operations, and Finance—to maintain precise costing data and support strategic decision-making in a complex manufacturing environment.

- Collaborate with Supply Chain, R&D, and Operations to maintain accurate raw material costs and ensure proper quantities in Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Adjust costs and quantities in response to supplier or R&D changes, monitoring their impact on inventory and cost roll‑ups.
- Ensure BOMs and Bills of Operations accurately reflect labor, machine hours, and overhead costs, updating as processes evolve.
- Work with Operations and Sales to set manufacturing quantities (EOQ) and establish standard costs for components and finished goods.
- Develop and use variance analysis tools to identify, investigate, and reduce cost variances between standard and actual costs, including root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to review purchase price variances and adjust raw material standards accordingly.
- Perform transaction‑level analysis within the ERP system to identify and correct discrepancies in WIP balances or financial statements.
- Analyze gross margin data to identify outliers and potential system or transaction issues.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
- Support special projects, cost analysis, and back‑up accounting duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing or costing, with strong inventory valuation knowledge.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work cross‑functionally.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence all levels of the organization.
- Experience working in complex product environments.
- Knowledge of variance analysis, transactional ERP workflows, and physical inventory processes.
- Mainly office‑based work with some time spent on the production floor and in warehouses.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a workstation.
- Minimal travel required (approximately 0-5%).
