We are currently seeking a Part-Time Medical Office Specialist for our Menifee location. This position is responsible for overall functioning of the medical office. Duties include but not limited to:
- Maintains a cordial and courteous relationship with patients. Always greets patients with a smile.
- Schedule, cancel and reschedule patient visits based on established guidelines.
- Check in / check out process. Assists providers to stay on schedule. Alerts patients of delays.
- Insurance authorizations. Ensures that all patient charts are prepared with the utmost accuracy.
- Reviews patient registration forms for accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Work schedule is Monday 11:30a, - , Sat/Sun 8:45am - 5:00pm. Schedule may change based on business needs.
- Must attend mandatory meetings.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- One (1) year administrative medical office experience required.
- Medical Terminology and basic mathematical calculations, basic computer knowledge required.
- Knowledge of medical clinic functions (scheduling, billing, insurance verifications and authorizations, ICD9 and CPT4 coding, patient procedures, medical records) preferred.
- Current BLS/CPR certification required.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Profecient in using office equipment such as fax machine, copier and telephone system.
- Works in a well-lighted, OSHA Standard environment.
- May be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.
- Occasionally subject to irregular hours.
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
