GENERAL SUMMARY
The Head Golf Professional is responsible for the daily operations of Golf Shop, Merchandise, Equipment, Cart Fleet, Lessons, Practice Facility and Tournaments (and Club House) including guest and team member relations. Work closely with Superintendent of Golf regarding golf course set up and procedures.
FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENTAll Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Customer Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort and Casino.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage the daily operations of the Golf Shop, (Club House) and Cart Fleet activities.
- (Responsible for all fiscal responsibilities and performance for the golf course including planning, budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and corrective management.)
- (Approves all expenditures and exercises cost control measures to keep operating and capital expenses in line with the approved budgets.)
- Coordinate tournaments and committees to ensure all aspects and deadlines are met.
- Oversee the scheduling and routing of personnel and equipment to ensure optimum operation.
- Develop and promote a professional and 4 diamond atmosphere within team members and guests.
- Coordinates with the appropriate departments, consultants or any organizations, internal and external, on projects.
- Will protect the assets of Pechanga Resort & Casino by enforcing all rules and regulations governing golf course usage.
- All other related duties as assigned.
In the absence of the Director of Golf, the Head Golf Professional will assist in a supervisory capacity as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINESEXPERIENCE/TRAINING/
EDUCATION:
Minimum 5 years experience Head Pro Golf Professional and supervisor or management experience. BA in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
COMMUNICATION
SKILLS:
This position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. This position also requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Furthermore, this position requires the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Mathematical skills necessary to complete management forecasts and payroll controls. This position requires the ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. This position also requires the ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. This position also requires the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Valid CA Drivers License
- Enrolled in the PGM program
- Computer/cash register literate
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Basic knowledge in the proper techniques of the golf swing for instruction
- Requires knowledge of current federal, state, local laws and regulations affecting the management of golf operations (including but not limited to employment, safety and environmental standards, etc)
- Requires a high degree of administrative and executive ability in problem solving, and decision making.
- Requires participation in continuing education opportunities such as seminars, workshops, correspondence courses and trade shows.
