The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for maintaining daily logs of pre‑operative and post‑anesthesia patients in accordance with policy. The CNA observes patient behavior across biophysical, developmental, cognitive, emotional, spiritual, and sociocultural needs; assists with transfers, floor movements, and discharge, and supports patients during preparation for surgery, including shaving and gowning. The CNA aides RNs with bedside nursing care, monitors special equipment, tubes, drains, prosthetics, and support devices, prioritizes and processes physician orders accurately, and manages patient calls and message delivery to staff.
Qualifications- Six (6) months of CNA experience preferred at an acute care facility
- Current, valid California Certified Nursing Assistant certificate
- Evidence of completion of Nursing Fundamentals within the last 24 months from an accredited Registered Nursing program AND current enrollment in such a program (alternative to the certificate)
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association) that is current
- CPI or NCI certification within 90 days of hire and annual renewal thereafter
- Ability to work in a high‑volume, fluctuating census environment
- Ability to handle many interruptions and irregular hours
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with fluctuating noise levels
