The OR RN performs initial assessment appropriate to the patient’s clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, age, development level, and cultural and religious orientation. Identifies and prioritizes the need for further assessment based on the patient’s clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, desire for care and responses to any previous care.

Observe all department policies and procedures, and participate in efforts to improve department quality. Serve as a nursing model, maintain expectations of the hospital and positive relationships regarding highest standards and values for all patients, families and co-workers. Prepare, assess and provide patient education, interventions and discharge instructions in an efficient, professional and consistent fashion. Maintain patient safety, accurate documentation, exceptional approach to collaborative teamwork.

Ensure quality and infection control. Use advanced knowledge of nursing science, technology, theory and research to improve quality. Provide effective nursing services to a patient and family with the latest technology, quality and standards while ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction.

• One (1) year operating room experience in an acute care facility and/or surgery center
• Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Registered Nurse with current California RN license
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• CNOR preferred
