Nursing Supervisor – Float Pool – ICU/PCU The Nursing Supervisor will supervise all ICU and or PCU units as assigned. He/She will be responsible for assisting with the planning and yearly needs assessment for the unit’s budget, monitoring patient care activities within budget, daily census and staff usage, and use of premium labor. The Nursing Supervisor also identifies cost‑reduction opportunities on a regular basis and recommends implementation.

He/She will oversee the daily charging process, assure staff education and participation in the appropriate assignment of patient charges, and give feedback, within the scope of the supervisor position, and make suggestions to staff regarding behavior detrimental to achievement of patient care goals and objectives, unit/department/organization goals while keeping the manager informed of issues at all times.

Essential Job Duties The Nursing Supervisor effectively delegates shift tasks and assignments to appropriate health care team members, maintains a positive relationship with the Medical Staff, and identifies opportunities to improve service relations. The candidate also assists the Director/Manager as needed with department operational responsibilities including accurate and timely input of employee hours and QA data collection.

Qualifications

Two (2) years of recent department‑specific experience required.

Charge nurse, supervisory expertise in department‑specific preferred.

Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing Program.

BSN preferred.

Bachelors with CA RN license considered.

Registered Nurse with current California RN license.

Current BLS & ACLS (AHA) certification.

Basic EKG/tele interpretation required.

CPI certification within the first 90 days of hire.
