Position: Clinical Nurse Supervisor (RN)-Med Surg Tele-Float Pool-Part Time Nights-Temecula Valley Hospital

Nursing Supervisor - Float Pool - Med Surg Tele will supervise all Med Surg Tele units as assigned. The Nursing Supervisor will assist with the planning and yearly needs assessment for the unit’s budget, monitor patient care activities within budget, daily census and staff usage, and use of premium labor. The supervisor will identify cost reduction opportunities on a regular basis and recommend implementation when necessary.

The supervisor will oversee the daily charging process and assure staff education and participation in the appropriate assignment of patient charges, as applicable. The candidate will give feedback and make suggestions to staff in regards to behavior that is detrimental to achievement of patient care goals and objectives and unit/department/organizational goals while keeping the manager informed of issues at all times.

Job Duties

The Nursing Supervisor effectively delegates shift tasks and assignments to appropriate health care team members and maintains a positive relationship with the Medical Staff. The candidate also assists Director/Manager as needed with department operational responsibilities including accurate and timely input of employee hours and QA data collection.

Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of recent department specific experience required
  • One (1) year of recent charge nurse, supervisory expertise in Med/Surg/Tele required
  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing Program
  • BSN preferred
  • Bachelors with CA RN license considered
  • Registered Nurse with current California RN license
  • Current BLS & ACLS (AHA) certification
  • Basic EKG/tele interpretation required
  • CPI certification within the first 90 days of hire
