SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Asphalt Raker to join our paving crew. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has a strong work ethic, and can handle the physical demands of asphalt paving. This role is essential to achieving smooth, level, and professional paving results on every job.
Key Responsibilities- Rake and spread hot asphalt to achieve proper grade and compaction
- Work closely with the paving machine operator and crew to maintain a consistent mat
- Shovel asphalt, clean edges, and perform finish work
- Follow management direction and communicate effectively with crew members
- Operate hand tools, lutes, and shovels safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean jobsite and assist with setup and cleanup
- Minimum 1–2 years of asphalt or paving experience required
- Knowledge of asphalt removal, installation, patching, and maintenance
- Familiarity with sealcoat application, crack fill, and pavement preservation
- Understanding of industry-related heavy equipment and safe work practices
- Equipment operation experience (skid steer, roller) a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in hot conditions and lift 50+ lbs
- Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to quality work
- Basic understanding of grades, slopes, and paving techniques
- Valid driver’s license and/ or reliable transportation required, (CDL Class A a plus)
