Base pay range

$22.00/hr - $22.00/hr

Shift Details

• Sunday through Saturday (4 day 10 hour days)
• Shift start time 8:00p
• Must be able to work weekends
• Must be able to work overtime if needed
• Must have stand up forklift experience for 2 years
• Must have reach truck and pacer experience for 2 years
• Must have double jack experience for 2 years
• Will be required to work in the freezer for a period of time
• Must pass drug screen
• Starting pay is $22.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Receiving, unpacking, verifying, and recording incoming merchandise or material.
• Arranging for transportation of products.
• Prepare items for shipment by supporting shipping department, assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material as needed while maintaining high efficiency and accuracy.
• Work environments vary: dry, cooler, and frozen atmospheres.
• Examine contents and compare with records (manifest, invoice, order) to verify accuracy of incoming/outgoing shipment.
• Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
• Record shipment data (weight, charges, space availability, damages, discrepancies) for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping.
• Determine shipping method for materials using shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
• Deliver or route materials using hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, etc.
• Correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems (damages, shortages, nonconformance).
• Compute amounts for space available, shipping, storage, and demurrage charges using calculator or price list.

Essential Duties

• Check incoming merchandise against invoices or orders to spot quantity discrepancies and damaged goods, inspect quality and condition of received merchandise.
• Move product to correct storage areas.
• Be familiar with all product locations.
• Keep supervisor informed of inventory levels and product requirements.
• Capable of following instructions from managers, supervisors, and fellow associates correctly.
• Accurately determine the difference between similar products.
• Keep warehouse neat, orderly at all times.

Work Experience Requirements

• Prefer 2-4 years previous experience in receiving, preferably food distribution.
• Previous experience in food distribution highly desirable.
• Experience using a WMS scanning system or similar.
• Accountability, accuracy, well‑organized and detail‑oriented.
• Demonstrate honesty and integrity.
• Reliable and responsible.
• Demonstrate safety awareness and ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
• Work well under pressure.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Work in fast‑paced environment and meet pressure situations and deadlines regularly.
• Adapt quickly to changes in the workplace.
• Capable of working in extreme temperatures, both cold and frozen.

Education Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Two to four years related experience.
• Familiarity with computer software or warehouse software.

Working Conditions

Standard warehouse conditions apply. Long hours spent standing, walking, bending, and lifting products. Operating industrial equipment such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold).
