Job Summary

The Sr. Staff Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, perform account reconciliations, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley and the Company's policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Prepare journal entries, maintain and reconcile the Fixed Assets Accounting System, manage general ledger accounts related to Fixed Assets, and prepare specified accounting records for month‑end closing and analysis.
  • Complete Fixed Assets roll‑forwards.
  • Establish a physical inventory process and accounting control procedures for Fixed Assets.
  • Prepare journal entries and related reconciliations for Prepaid Expenses and other asset accounts.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Research issues/questions from the tax department and other groups.
  • Interface with internal and external auditors and provide audit schedules and data.
  • Self‑manage assigned workload distribution.
  • Monitor, record, and report project/job administrative progress and project/work‑related quality and safety issues, and provide periodic reports on status to the assigned supervisor.
  • Effectively coordinate and maintain all project financial documents, software system inputs, and related billing/invoicing issues per Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of expenses.
  • Establish a lease agreement accumulation process and accounting control procedures for Leases.
  • Create, develop, implement, and revise project process improvement(s).
  • Preserve confidential information, work independently and solve problems with little or no supervision, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Compensation ranges from USD 80,000.00 to USD 90,000.00 per year.
Qualifications
  • Must be self‑motivated, positive in approach, and professional in promoting company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.
  • Must possess proven problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral direction(s) to project personnel.
  • Must have solid attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Must be proficient in interpreting project documents, including timesheets, spreadsheets, and billing documents.
  • Must be able to effectively operate office equipment and common computer devices.
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Must have a minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience in a similar role; construction accounting experience is preferred.
  • Must have previous experience with accounting software.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.
  • Strong organization and time‑management skills are required.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Must be capable of reporting research results with open and clear communication skills.
  • High level of confidentiality required.
  • Minimum years of experience: 4–6.
  • License required.
  • No minimum education: college level.
