Job Description - Sr. Buyer, Supply Chain & ProcurementOur client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Supply Chain & Procurement Buyer to lead sourcing initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and optimize procurement processes. This role is critical to ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, supporting operational efficiency and organizational growth.
Responsibilities - What you will do- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to meet business objectives and ensure supply continuity.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal terms, pricing, and quality.
- Manage supplier performance, including conducting regular reviews and resolving issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Finance) to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
- Monitor market trends and conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for savings and risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation.
- Lead initiatives to improve procurement processes, systems, and tools.
- Support inventory management and demand planning to optimize stock levels.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement metrics, supplier performance, and cost savings.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and cost savings.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of ERP/MRP (SAP experience is plus).
- Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa) and Microsoft Office Suite; experience of VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory), JIT (Just In Time).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of contract law, procurement best practices, and global sourcing.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or PMP are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously within a team and contribute to a positive, collaborative work culture.
- Bilingual skills is a plus.
There is 10-30% overseas travel involved for collaboration with other suppliers. At the beginning of employment, there may be 3-6 months of being dispatched overseas (for part of the time) to learn.
