Job DescriptionThe teacher is distinguished from other classes by the focus on educating students through classroom instruction as well as through specialized education and skills development programs in schools and throughout the District as Teacher Specialists.
Job QualificationsArizona Elementary Teacher Certification Required and a bilingual endorsement. Spanish proficiency (reading, writing, oral) by an accredited university assessment. Interviews for this position will be conducted in Spanish. SEI endorsement preferred.
Licensing/Certification RequirementsValid IVP Level One AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
Employment Information2025-26 school year; 194 work days (216 day teacher calendar).

Future RequirementLiteracy Endorsement (unless you hold a Reading K-8, Reading K-12 or Reading Specialist K-12 endorsement).
Timeline- Teachers who were certified on or before 8/1/2025 have until 8/1/2028 to obtain the literacy endorsement.
- Teachers who certify after 8/1/2025 will have 3 years from certificate issuance to obtain the literacy endorsement.
- Teachers who graduate from AZ colleges in 2025 should have completed the coursework and should have the certificate on their licenses.
