Pay Grade: 108
Hourly: $25.52 - $37.64
The successful candidate's placement in the salary range will depend upon previous experience in a similar role.

DESCRIPTION / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position is responsible for maintenance of electrical and mechanical components of Water Division assets and infrastructure. Operates equipment and performs repairs.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following,
* Inspect, troubleshoot, install, repair and maintain electrical and mechanical components associated with water and wastewater infrastructure, stormwater conveyance systems and Tempe Town Lake dam
* Operate and maintain wastewater lift stations, water production wells and storage infrastructure.
* Perform electrical work on systems of up to 480 volts.
* Monitor and adjust chemical feeds, collect samples for process control.
* Coordinate work and review work quality for vendors and contractors.
* Accurately document activities in asset management and workorder systems.
* Maintain inventory and procures parts and materials as needed.
* Operate, monitor, and maintain solids removal and water treatment related equipment. Modify, upgrade, and rebuild equipment and systems.
* Perform Plant Operator, Senior responsibilities related to water and wastewater treatment, when appropriately trained and certified.
* May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing plumbing, HVAC or industrial equipment.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant's full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Professional Licensure and/or
Certifications:
* Valid driver's license
* Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Grade 1 Water Distribution Certification, obtain within one (1) year of hire when assigned to Field Sites.
* ADEQ Grade 1 Water Treatment System Operator Certification, obtain within one (1) year of hire when assigned to the Water Treatment Plant.
* ADEQ Grade 1 Wastewater Treatment System Operator Certification, obtain within one (1) year of hire when assigned to Wastewater Treatment Plant.
