Job Summary:
The Field Engineer II will install and operate low‑voltage and structured cabling systems and equipment.
General
Job Duties And Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems in a senior service support role, including testing, troubleshooting of system components and field verification of connections, labels, installation and work quality.
- Understand advanced system drawings, specifications and technical manuals; create shop drawings and submittals for new project kick‑off.
- Manage technical work in the field with little supervision.
- Work in both “in‑house” and field when required.
- Assume ownership of project installation, supporting field staff and project manager, and provide advanced support for field installation staff.
- Assist with maintaining and completing project punch‑list for project close‑outs.
- Oversee the technical aspects of projects.
- Perform quality‑check, test all equipment and functionality, and create punch lists.
- Assist sales staff with product and system demonstrations as needed.
- Handle other responsibilities as assigned.
Salary:
$28.00 – $35.00 per hour

- High skill in interpreting blueprints, project documents, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Able to travel within branch or regional territory as needed.
Education, Certifications, Licenses:
- High School diploma or GED equivalency; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years commercial low‑voltage/structured cabling experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
- Meet company minimum driving standards.
- Manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to define a project, create scope of work, develop detailed tasks and manage to completion and customer turnover.
