MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSExperience:

¿ in municipal permit processing and/or private development construction or related experience.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Equivalent
Education:
Associate’s or vocational/technical school degree
The term “equivalent” means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal one-year increments for college-level education (2 additional years for an associate degree and 4 additional years for a bachelor’s degree).

International Residential Code (IRC) Plans Examiner/Inspector or International Building Code (IBC) Plans Examiner/Inspector Certification
One (1) of the following ICC CertificationsRequired:

Residential Energy Inspector/Plans Examiner
DESCRIPTION / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThis position oversees and coordinates the Development Services section, provides customer service on technical and administrative issues, and implements process improvements.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

¿ Supervises assigned personnel, including assigning and reviewing work, providing guidance, training and conducting performance evaluations. ¿ - ¿
¿ Provides customer service to both internal and external customers regarding status of projects, assistance with permit reinstatements, application renewals, wire transfer coordination, and project coordination with internal team members.¿ - ¿
¿ Manages and processes expired plan checks. ¿ - ¿ Serves as primary point of contact for escalated issues, complaints, or inquiries regarding the permitting process.¿
- Monitors changes in local, state, and federal regulations related to permitting and updates the department policies and directives.
- Recommends and implements process improvements and assists with permitting system upgrades.
- May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned.
- Criminal history review
Placement within the salary range will be based on prior experience in a similar role.
