Direct Care Worker (DCW) / Caregiver

Devoted Guardians Homecare is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Direct Care Workers (DCWs) to provide quality, non-medical care and support to individuals in their homes.

Our caregivers play an essential role in helping clients maintain their independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others, demonstrate professionalism, and are committed to providing exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Personal Care Assistance
  - Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Provide assistance with toileting and incontinence care. Assist with mobility, transfers, and walking. Support clients with daily living activities while encouraging independence.
• Companionship and Emotional Support
  - Provide companionship and meaningful conversation. Encourage participation in daily activities. Offer emotional support and promote a positive environment. Observe and report changes in client behavior or condition.
• Household Assistance
  - Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, and general cleaning. Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment. Assist with grocery shopping and errands when authorized.
• Client Safety and Documentation
  - Follow established client care plans and company procedures. Document services accurately and on time. Communicate client concerns or changes to management. Maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries. Follow safety protocols and infection-control guidelines.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Must be dependable, compassionate, and professional.
• Previous caregiving or homecare experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and management.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must successfully complete required background screenings.
• Must provide three professional or personal references who can be contacted.
• Must complete required onboarding documents and training.
• Must be physically capable of performing assigned caregiving duties safely.

Scheduling and Availability Expectations:

• Devoted Guardians is seeking caregivers who can provide consistent and reliable availability.
• Must be willing to travel a minimum of 30 minutes to client assignments when driving. Caregivers using public transportation must be willing to travel a minimum of one hour.
• Must provide accurate days and hours of availability before scheduling.
• Availability submitted during onboarding will be used for client matching and scheduling during the first 90-day probationary period.
• Requested availability changes during the first 90 days must be discussed with management and are subject to review and approval.
• Must communicate scheduling concerns, absences, or delays promptly.
• Willingness to work in homes with cats, dogs, or smokers is beneficial for client placement.

Required Onboarding Process:

• Complete the official Devoted Guardians employment application.
• Complete HR onboarding documents through Paylocity.
• Complete the Arizona CBC background screening.
• Complete the Checker Criminal Background screening.
• Provide three references for verification.
• Complete the DCW Availability and 90-Day Commitment Form.
• Attend and successfully complete required orientation and training.
