The Sr. Manager of IT Infrastructure is a hands-on leadership role and will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company s IT infrastructure, including cloud and on-premises hosting, networking, and storage systems. This role requires experience with Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) platforms such as Scale Computing or Nutanix. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex IT environments and ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of enterprise-class infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement IT infrastructure strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and projects.
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the company s IT infrastructure remains competitive and up-to-date.
- Assist in planning the IT infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and efficient resource allocation.
- Strong focus on Voice of the Customer (VOC) to achieve SLAs for system availability and ticket resolution.
- Experience with firewall and network administration, including routing and switching, micro-segmentation, security hardening, and QoS.
- Manage and maintain the company s networking infrastructure, including SD-WAN, LAN, and Campus-Area networks. SSE or SASE experience is a plus.
- Assist Info Sec team to achieve robust network security and compliance (e.g., ISO
27001, NIST, CMMC). - Assist in the planning and execution of disaster recovery (DR) testing to achieve RPO and RTO objectives.
- Travel to major sites as needed (up to 20%).
- Manage and maintain the company s HCI platforms, currently using Nutanix and Scale Computing.
- Plan for sizing and scalability of company s HCI platforms based on IT roadmap and business needs.
- Advise and support cloud integration efforts, primarily Microsoft Azure.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of the hosting infrastructure to support business objectives.
- Assist in the management and maintenance of the company s non-HCI systems (HP Nimble, VMware, vSAN).
- Manage relationships with IT service vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a focus on cloud and on-premises hosting, networking, and storage systems.
- Prior experience with HCI platforms. Experience with Scale Computing or Nutanix is a plus.
- Windows Server system administration required, RH Linux system administration a plus.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including virtualization, networking, storage, and cloud computing.
