Position: Project Manager (Special Projects Division)

Description

Overview

The Project Manager oversees the entire lifecycle of projects, from initiation to completion. This role involves managing all aspects of construction, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, coordination, and quality control.

Essential Functions
  • Manages multiple projects at various stages of completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to safety regulations.
  • Collaborates in developing annual company goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Fosters a positive work environment that encourages open communication, collaboration, and teamwork among project teams.
  • Reviews and evaluates purchase orders, submittals, and contracts, maintaining a comprehensive change order log to track modifications.
  • Manages project billing for all active jobs, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Processes time and material vouchers, accurately documenting and tracking project-related expenses.
  • Develops Method of Procedures (MOPs) in a timely manner, providing clear and detailed instructions for project execution.
  • Monitors and tracks project progress against established milestones, taking proactive measures to address delays or issues.
  • Collaborates with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure timely and effective communication regarding project status, changes, and updates.
  • Conducts regular project meetings to review progress, address concerns, and provide guidance to the project team.
  • Continuously assesses and improves project management processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and promotes a zero-incident mindset across all projects.
  • Provides strategic input to optimize project execution, cost efficiency, and resource allocation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent work experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the electrical contracting industry, with a focus on project management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP.
  • Knowledge of electrical construction best practices and industry standards.
  • Experience with electrical estimating and cost control.

OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in the successful performance of the job. Additional education may substitute for required experience on one-for-one year basis or vice versa.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of electrical construction processes, industry codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of electrical estimating and cost analysis to assess project expenses and prepare estimates.
  • Skill in managing multiple large commercial projects across diverse sectors.
  • Skill in reviewing contracts, purchase orders, and submittals with attention to detail.
  • Skill in using project management software such as Viewpoint, Cosential, and McCormick.
  • Skill in advanced Microsoft Office Suite applications for project documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to make decisive and informed decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with teams, subcontractors, and clients through effective communication.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to continuously assess and improve project management workflows.
Work Environment
  • Light work environment. General office settings with limited exposure to light physical and occasional uncomfortable environmental conditions. Work may require lifting up to 25 pounds; occasional exposure to light, noise, dust, time pressure, etc.
