Traveling General Superintendent - Healthcare Construction
Location: Multiple locations across the US, including Nashville, Kansas City, Raleigh, Jacksonville, Charlotte, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Atlanta, Austin, Indianapolis, Tampa, St. Louis, Orlando, San Antonio, Omaha, Tempe, Houston, Cleveland, Columbus.

This position is within our National Healthcare Division and requires 100% travel. Project assignments may vary, and travel incentives are available.
Role Summary: The General Superintendent will develop and execute project plans, oversee all aspects of complex projects, manage teams, plan construction sequencing, and ensure project goals are met, aligning with JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values.
- Autonomy & Decision-Making: Work independently, adapt plans and priorities, make decisions, guide subordinate managers, and consult with supervisors as needed.
- Career Path: Director of Field Operations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead safety culture, investigate incidents, and promote an injury-free environment.
- Manage subcontractors, staff, suppliers, and programs like Safety, Quality, and EEO.
- Develop work plans, coordinate project site activities, lead meetings, and manage project schedules and budgets.
- Communicate effectively with owners, design teams, authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure quality compliance, support project closeouts, and participate in project pursuit and negotiation processes.
- Recruit top talent and promote diversity and inclusion.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manage large, complex projects from planning to completion.
- Provide oversight to multiple projects and teams.
- Lead strategic initiatives and develop training content.
- Deliver leadership messages effectively internally and externally.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong work accuracy, advanced communication and presentation skills, proficiency in MS Office, project management software, construction technology, scheduling, Lean principles, and a deep understanding of trades, self-perform work, budgets, and productivity.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s in construction management, engineering, or related; or relevant experience. 12+ years construction experience, 10+ years field supervision, and experience with Lean principles preferred.
Working Environment: Valid driver’s license required.
