Job Summary
Mercury Systems is seeking the best and brightest talent to help us bring cutting‑edge technology to mission‑critical aerospace and defense applications, advancing innovation where it matters most. The Senior Mechanical Assembler will perform a variety of tasks relating to production operations on electronics and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. Targeted start date would be beginning to mid‑January.
Job Responsibilities- Install, assemble and inspect electronic components per documented work instructions.
- Interpret job routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics.
- Demonstrate professionalism, leadership and initiatives on a daily basis.
- Perform a variety of inspections to ensure assemblies meet/exceed IPC standards.
- Perform pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts.
- Disassemble and re‑assemble, modify, rework assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to travel to Chantilly VA for up to 2 months for training
- Minimum of 5 or more years of mechanical assembly experience
- Must have meticulous hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures
- Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to meet production and customer needs
- Experience with mechanical assembly
- High School Diploma or GED
- Targeted start date: beginning to mid‑January 2026
- Electronics assembly and inspection experience
- Knowledgeable of 5S/6S
- New Process Introduction experience highly preferred
- Experience with set up and training a team from scratch
- Soldering under microscope
- IPC‑610/620 and JSTD 001 experience
- College degree

- Frequently observe, detect, discern, and convey information. Specific abilities required by this job include near, far and color vision acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Requires good manual dexterity and coordination, and stamina. Specific abilities required by this job include the frequent requirement of overtime work.
