Scope

The mechanical and electrical assembly job involves building complex products that combine both mechanical and electrical components. Assemblers must be able to follow detailed instructions, read and understand blueprints, drawings, and wiring schematics, use hand and power tools, and perform precise work within given times. Key responsibilities include assembling, testing, and troubleshooting electromechanical systems, which often requires hands‑on experience, technical training, and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Assembly and wiring:
    Assembling mechanical parts, wire harnesses, and executing point‑to‑point wiring.
  • Component installation:
    Installing electrical components like motors, sensors, switches, and connectors.
  • Blueprint interpretation:
    Reading and interpreting technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Testing and troubleshooting:
    Performing tests to verify functionality and troubleshooting issues with both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Quality control:
    Inspecting components and assemblies for quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Documentation:
    Completing required documentation, such as test results and traceability records.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude: A strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical principles.
  • Technical literacy:
    The ability to read and interpret complex assembly drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Tool proficiency:
    Experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Manual dexterity:
    Excellent hand‑eye coordination for precision assembly and soldering.
  • Computer skills:
    Familiarity with basic computer programs for documentation and following instructions.
  • Communication:
    Must be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal) as it relates to the job.
  • Environment:
    Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, completing demands and demonstrate ability to adapt to frequent changes, delays and/or unexpected events.
  • Experience:

    Must possess 1 to 2 years (minimum) of general mechanical and/or electrical assembly experience.
The incumbent must also demonstrate the following skills
  • Operate a forklift and lifting devices for movement of parts and other equipment as needed.

  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.

Physical Requirements
  • Standing - ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Walking - ability to walk for extended periods within the work area.
  • Lifting and carrying - ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Hand and finger dexterity - constant use of hands and fingers for manipulation of parts.
Working Conditions

Tru Stop is a busy facility located in Tempe, with roughly 47,000 sq/ft of A/C manufacturing/assembly space. The assembly team will have to serve several product lines and projects during any given time frame, and may be diverted from one project to another throughout the course of a work shift requiring excellent organizational and time management skills to efficiently complete the required tasks.
