Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Processing Technician is a key member of the manufacturing and operations team reporting to the manufacturing manager. This position is an exciting role since it is a hands‑on technical assignment with the opportunity to tackle new technical problems to solve and processes to improve daily. It offers continuous opportunities for learning and personal growth.

Key

Duties & Responsibilities:

(may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices)

1. Production support
  • Improve current manufacturing process and tooling to be more labor efficient, reduce cycle time and reduce scrap.
  • Edit and improve written manufacturing assembly instructions as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with malfunctioning equipment.
  • Design new tooling to improve processes and reduce labor.
  • Review with the engineering team all written assembly or process instructions as products transition into production.
  • Stay abreast of current and new equipment to improve processes and increase operator productivity.
  • Liaison with key equipment vendors.
2. Equipment Maintenance
  • Review equipment maintenance records and ensure equipment is maintained to manufacture’s guidelines.
  • Oversee all manufacturing equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • Interface with internal buyers and vendors for equipment calibration and repair outside facility.
  • Minimize manufacturing downtime with all equipment maintenance and calibrations.
  • Maybe responsible for completing some equipment periodic maintenance.
3. Collaboration
  • Communicate with members of the operations team on any problematic equipment or processes that will cause production delays.
  • Support manufacturing assemblers with technical or hands‑on instruction guidance and training as needed.
  • Request written process instructions clarifications to the engineering team as needed.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Manager and Planner as needed for optimizing workflow.
  • Collaborate with the engineering sales team in developing labor time estimates for new products.
4. Documentation and Compliance
  • Maintain records on equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Updating manufacturing work instructions documents for clarity and estimated work hours.
  • Monitor manufacturing activities and processes for alignment with company policies, OSHA safety regulations, and ISO 9000 quality standards.
  • Assist in quality audits and inspections related to internal and ISO 9000 processes as it relates to equipment compliance and maintenance.
Requirements/

Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in product engineering or manufacturing.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience with electronic measurement tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to multi‑task and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Capable of working in metric and SI measurement units.
  • Experience using manufacturing software for work order management and documentation.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations in manufacturing.
Work Environment:
  • Requires some standing, bending, and working on the manufacturing production lines.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional overtime to meet customer production demands.
