The Front of House Supervisors support the management team in providing a friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable guest service that goes above and beyond at all times. Supervisors work in a fun, fast‑paced environment and handle multiple responsibilities ranging from guest interaction to expediting orders to hands‑on service. This position is a stepping stone before our Management Training and offers the opportunity to learn the business and grow your career.
Once hired, you will be trained to deliver friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable guest service that exceeds expectations. You will be exposed to each workgroup, expected to understand our service standards, coach and support others, and excel in a team service environment.
Essential Qualifications- Minimum age 21 to serve alcoholic beverages with food.
- High school graduate, some college.
- Any previous supervisor experience.
- Food Handler Card.
- Ability to communicate in satisfactory manner, both verbally and in written English.
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to be well organized, maintain concentration, and think clearly when providing service to guests.
- Ability to focus attention to performance of tasks despite frequent stressful or unusual interruptions.
- Ability to suggestively sell menu items and beverages.
- Ability to converse calmly with irate guests, co‑workers, or supervisors in tense situations.
- Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work cohesively with co‑workers as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain complete knowledge of front‑of‑house standards.
- Correct maintenance and use of food serving/preparation equipment.
- Experience with point‑of‑sale procedures.
- Complete opening duties as assigned and to standard.
- Record all necessary information/messages in legible writing on appropriate sheets.
- Seat guests as reserved or walk‑in, promptly and courteously, accommodating special requests.
- Ensure transfer of guest checks from bartender and cocktail servers to dining room servers.
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy.
- Interact in courteous and professional manner with guests, supervisors, and co‑workers.
- Resolve guest complaints and give instructions beyond routine service.
- Follow manager’s instructions.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of guest restrooms.
- Guide assigned assistants to ensure optimum service to guests.
- Complete all closing reports as assigned and leave duty after reporting to manager.
- Legibly document orders when point‑of‑sale system is inoperative and distribute orders to appropriate stations.
- Complete comps or voids as needed during the shift.
- Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule for each shift.
- Update menus and wine lists for managers.
- Notify management of any pertinent information related to shift activities.
