Job Summary

Information Technology Services at MCCCD is seeking an elite Cybersecurity Engineer to elevate Maricopa's security posture and protect mission‑critical systems. Reporting to the Director of Security Operations, you will be the technical powerhouse driving security innovation across enterprise, cloud, and hybrid environments.

In this role, you will leverage cutting‑edge tools—EDR platforms, next‑generation firewalls, and SIEM/SOAR solutions—to lead proactive threat hunting, rapid incident response, and deep forensic investigations. Your expertise in vulnerability management, disaster recovery, and business continuity will be pivotal in building resilient, future‑proof architectures in AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Essential Functions

Must be willing and able to work in an office setting, where there is a mandatory minimum in‑office expectation, which the District reserves the right to update and/or change at any time.

20% - Security Technology Management
  • Designs, configures, deploys, and maintains enterprise security technologies, including next‑generation firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection platforms (EDR/XDR), SIEM/SOAR solutions, and vulnerability management tools; ensures continuous optimization and tuning to maximize detection and prevention capabilities.
20% - Infrastructure Security Collaboration
  • Partners with network, systems, and cloud teams to implement secure configurations and hardening across on‑premises and cloud infrastructure; enforces security best practices and compliance standards.
15% - Cybersecurity Leadership & Project Execution
  • Leads, plans, and executes enterprise‑wide cybersecurity projects focused on protecting critical assets, reducing risk, and ensuring regulatory compliance; viewed as a subject‑matter expert and serves as a trusted technical advisor to the Director and executive leadership…
