Journeyman Drywall taper​/finisher

Position: Journeyman Drywall Taper/Finisher at TEPCON Construction, Inc.

Purpose of Position: Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction projects, specifically a journeyman-level Taper/Drywall Finisher.

Primary Position Responsibilities And Duties

• Good communication skills – interact with facility managers/engineers concisely.
• Ability to work flexible hours – work off hours to accommodate clients.
• Organizational / Prioritization skills – organize and prioritize work and job sites in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow through – close out projects with inspectors and subcontractors to meet client satisfaction and deadlines.

Skills

• Journeyman taper/finisher with framing and painting experience.
• Painter (brush/roll/masking/prep).
• Drywall finishing (hang, tape, texture, Level 5).
• Metal stud framing (minor).

Required Technical Competencies

• Drywall taping/finishing – 3 years.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the carpentry trade.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations; maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Measure accurately, calculate dimensions, and read blueprints.
• Exert heavy physical effort; handle average weight objects up to 80 pounds.

Skills And Experience

• Experience in commercial, occupied environments (must).
• Work in occupied, professional environments.
• Maintain records, document actions, and present written progress reports.
• Clean equipment, shop area, and work site area.
• Pass a background check and drug test (safety-sensitive position).
• Work nights and days.

Basic Expertise/Knowledge Of Following Fields Is Encouraged

• Electrical
• HVAC
• Plumbing
• Flooring (carpet/VCT/Tile)
• Ceiling tile/grid repair

Required Licenses/Certifications/Equipment

• OSHA 10
• AZ Driver's License
• Own tools and truck
