Senior Diesel Technician – Ryder – Tempe, AZ
Ryder is hiring a permanent full‑time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our truck fleet in Tempe, Arizona. You will perform a broad range of vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostic duties, mentor junior technicians, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Job Details- Hourly Pay: $27.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 per new unseres ASE certification (up to $700)
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, Weekends Off - Hours:
Second Shift, 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm

- Perform preventive and complex mechanical/electronic vehicle maintenance and repairytter
- Complete detailed inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components and maintain shop tools and equipment
- Execute facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to identify and resolve complaints
- Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation
- Comply with federal, provincial, and corporate safety regulations
- Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 technicians
- Complete required training: OTC, OEM online diagnostic courses
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant mechanical‑repair experience (preferred)
- Experience with heavy‑ and medium‑duty vehicles and industrial equipment
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, routine maintenance, diagnostics, and electrical systems
- Must obtain a CDL® Class A within 6 months of hire (or possess a valid driver’s license)
- Pass Ryder’s drug test, DOT physical, background check, and road test
- Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- Ability to work unsupervised on most tasks
