Job Purpose

As a MS Permanent Substitute, you will facilitate children’s education seamlessly in the absence of the regular teacher.

How You Will Impact Education Instruction/Education Responsibilities
  • Review plans and schedules with the principal, supervisor, or designated teacher.
  • Teach lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
  • Report the day's activities and provide feedback to the principal.
  • Follow all school and CSUSA policies and procedures.
  • Consult with the principal or supervisor before implementing any non-specified procedures.
Student Management
  • Maintain established routines and procedures.
  • Oversee pupil behavior during the school day.
  • Ensure appropriate student behavior at all times.
School/Community Relations
  • Maintain good relations with faculty and staff.
  • Handle student and staff information confidentially.
Required Qualifications And Skills
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to the mission and values.
  • Ability to interact effectively with staff and students at all levels.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills:
    Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills: oral, written, interpersonal.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Completion of District's Substitute Workshop.
  • Commitment to company values.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work primarily occurs in a typical school setting, which may be noisy. No significant physical exertion required, but some stress due to student activity. Light physical effort involved, with occasional exertion up to 20 pounds.

Additional Details

This position is non-exempt under FLSA, full-time, entry level, in the education and training industry, serving primary and secondary education sectors.
