As a Gastroenterologist at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System, you will be expected to perform various gastrointestinal procedures in the day procedure unit and potentially other appropriate settings. Your responsibilities will also include taking rotational call on nights and weekends for inpatients, ensuring that our veterans receive continuous care.
In addition to clinical duties, you will be involved in administrative tasks, teaching, and committee assignments as delegated by the Chief of Gastroenterology. You will have the unique opportunity to mentor Internal Medicine residents and Gastroenterology Fellows in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Providing timely and constructive feedback on their performance will be a crucial part of your role while helping to advance the future of gastroenterology.

- Work Schedule
:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Education Debt Reduction

Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. - License

Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. - Residency Training
