We are seeking to add a Plant Controller to our growing manufacturing and distribution team.

Job location:

Temple, TX

• Overseeing all plant accounting operations, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
• Ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
• Guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Protecting assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
• Monitoring and confirming financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
• Maximizing return and limiting risk on cash by minimizing bank balances and making investments.
• Preparing budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
• Achieving budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
• Providing financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
• Continually improving the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues affecting their budgets.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting, preferably in a Plant Accountant role with a manufacturing company that uses standard costing.
• CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
• Proficiency in Oracle and Hyperion Planning is preferred.
• Previous experience in an accounting firm is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, cost savings, balance sheet management, GAAP, Financial Planning, Audit, Internal Controls, and Variance Analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) and their application in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
