Overview:
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is recruiting Medical Support Assistants (MSA) to support the Care in the Community Service at VA Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHCS) located at 1901 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Temple, Texas 76504. Working hours are typically Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm. Weekend coverage may be required on a rotational basis. Competitive packages are available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities:- Acts as the designated scheduler and receptionist, coordinating appointment scheduling in accordance with VHA Directive 1230 and related procedures.
- Handles front desk duties, which vary by clinic location and patient needs.
- Adheres to VA policies and guidelines, including VA Publication 3218.
- Answers phone calls promptly for scheduling requests, and records calls in patients’ CPRS chart.
- Collaborates with Lead Scheduler to ensure timely and accurate patient communications.
- Works with the scheduling/reception team to maintain competence and a positive, proactive demeanor.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives to comply with performance measures from SFVAHS, Vision 21, VA Central Office, JCAHO, OSHA, SOARS, and the Inspector General.
- Follows policy and procedural memorandums, and directives from JCAHO, OSHA, and Title 38.
- Provides quality customer service to patients, families, VA staff, contractors, physicians, fellows, and residents.
- Citizen or resident of the United States.
- Ability to speak, hear, and read English clearly.
- Proficient in computer programs (spreadsheets, word processing, etc.), logging in, and typing 45‑60 wpm with minimum errors.
- Heavy phone and computer usage, often simultaneously.
- Familiarity with medical and hospital terminology and/or clinics.
- Technically proficient with skills required to meet government requirements; training will be provided by SFVAHS on appointment management and VA policies.
- Minimum 6 months experience with medical appointment scheduling in a medical setting.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or comparable training is preferred but not required.
- Ability to pass a required security clearance (NACI‑level background check).
- Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, twisting, and reaching above shoulders during the work shift.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
- Lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Carrying up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
