Position: Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - RN

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) – RN

STGi is currently seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) RN to provide services at the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home located in Temple, TX. Our staff provides compassionate and specialized care to our nation's veterans, focusing on the best experience for residents and their families.

Essential Functions
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing services department in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the facility.
  • Work with the Minimum Data Set/Resident Assessment Instrument (MDS/RAI) Coordinator to schedule, conduct, and submit resident assessments.
  • Allocate resources efficiently while ensuring that residents obtain their highest practical physical, mental, and psycho–social well‑being.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals, consultants and organizations including government and advocacy groups.
  • Coordinate with other resident services to ensure continuity of resident care.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in obtaining staffing information that must be posted on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that direct nursing care is provided by a licensed nurse, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN), and/or a nurse aide trainee qualified to perform the procedures.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Prefer two (2) years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility or other related health care facility.
  • Must have at least six (6) months of experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
Required Education
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.

Must possess a current and unrestricted nursing license in the state of Texas.
