Unit Summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse to join our Trauma Progressive Care Unit. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin. This is a 38-bed Telemetry Monitored Nursing Unit. Working on 5 North gives you the opportunity to work with both Adults and Geriatrics.

Working on 5 North, you can expect your clinical skills to become greater than ever imagined due to the high acuity of patients and verities of scope which include:

• Post ICU Trauma patients (serious injury to 2 or more body systems)
• Traumatic Intra-Thoracic injury, intrabdominal injury, and complex fractures
• Traumatic Musculoskeletal Wounds
• Complex Cholecystectomy and Appendectomy
• Bariatric Surgery
• Colorectal Surgery (bowel malignancies, inflammatory bowel disease)
• Thoracic Surgeries – lobectomy, esophagostomy
• Urology – prostatectomy
• Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery

• Graduate of RN School of Nursing
• ADN required
• Active RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer

• Graduate of an accredited program
• Specialized field of study should be nursing
• RN license
• Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role
