We are seeking a Full‑Time Registered Nurse to join our Ortho Trauma Progressive Care Unit (5 South) at Baylor Scott & White Health Medical Center.

Schedule:

Full Time – 36 hours per week.

Unit Summary

This 35‑bed monitored nursing unit provides care for a wide variety of patients ranging from adults to geriatrics.

  • Post ICU trauma patients (serious traumatic injury to 2 or more body systems)
  • Complex plastic reconstructive surgeries (including reconstructive flaps and graft sites, post‑cancer reconstruction, and trauma‑related reconstruction)
  • Complex ENT patients including free muscle flaps and neck dissections
  • Complex ENT reconstructive tracheostomies and laryngectomies
  • Traumatic complex fractures and musculoskeletal wounds
  • Elective joint replacements – rapid recovery program
  • Sports injuries
  • Spinal deformities
  • Complicated pelvic, hip, and compression fractures
  • Skeletal malformations and abnormalities
  • Amputations and prosthesis
  • Neurosurgery, vascular surgery, general surgery
  • Medical/surgical patients including those requiring telemetry

Requirements
  • Graduate of an RN school of nursing
  • ADN required
  • Active RN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required or within 30 days of hire or transfer
Qualifications
  • Education – Graduate of an accredited program
  • Major – Nursing
  • Experience – 2 years of experience
