Busy ER in Level One Trauma Hospital – certified Chest Pain and Stroke Center.
Stroke and STEMI activations under established care guidelines.
This is a fast‑paced ER environment that relies on teamwork. The unit has 50 exam rooms and 6 trauma bays.
Registered Nurses work closely with ED providers, social workers, registration, and other staff.
The unit cares primarily for adult populations, with pediatric support as needed.
Registered Nurses may participate in improvement projects, shared governance, department committees, and councils.
Team members are encouraged to learn new skills and improve time management.

As a Registered Nurse, you will oversee patient care using the professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and monitoring responses. You will ensure safe patient transport, adhere to the Texas Nursing Practice Act, and delegate tasks appropriately.
Essential Functions of the RoleConduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans, adjusting as necessary to reach desired outcomes.
Build therapeutic relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in interactions with patients and families.
Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members; assess and document learning needs regularly.
Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to develop care plans, delegating tasks and following up promptly, while ensuring safety and efficiency.
Contribute to team goals, recognize contributions, foster professional growth, and serve the community.
Key Success Factors- Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
- Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, and hospital guidelines.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and medication knowledge.

- Basic computer skills:
Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling, payroll, electronic medical documentation, and email.

Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited RN program with nursing specialization.
- RN license.
- Current BLS certification (or obtain within 30 days of starting).
- Minimum one year of RN experience in an Emergency Department.
