Baylor Scott & White Health Medical Center is seeking a full‑time Charge Nurse to join our Ortho Trauma Progressive Care Unit (5 South). The city is the #1 location in the nation for nursing opportunities and advancement. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636‑bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.
Schedule: Full Time – 36 hours per week.
Unit Summary- Post ICU trauma patients (serious traumatic injury to two or more body systems)
- Complex plastic reconstructive surgeries (incl. reconstructive flaps and graft sites, post‑cancer reconstruction, and trauma‑related reconstruction)
- Complex ENT patients including free muscle flaps and neck dissections
- Complex ENT reconstructive tracheostomies and laryngectomies
- Traumatic complex fractures and musculoskeletal wounds
- Elective joint replacements – Rapid Recovery Program
- Sports injuries
- Spinal deformities
- Complicated pelvic, hip, and compression fractures
- Skeletal malformations and abnormalities
- Amputations and prosthesis
- Neurosurgery, vascular surgery, general surgery
- Medical/surgical patients including those requiring telemetry
- Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits

The Ideal Candidate
- Graduate of the RN School of Nursing
- ADN required
- Active RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer
- Education – Graduate of an accredited program
- Major – Nursing
- Experience – 2 years of experience
