Meter Technician

The Meter Technician I performs essential maintenance on water meters and service lines, addressing exchanges, repairs, leaks, cutoffs, and relocations. This role also provides crucial support to the Metering Department through meter reading, completing various work orders, performing re-reads, and managing water service disconnections and reconnections.

• Conduct water meter maintenance, including meter exchanges, repairs, leak remediation, service line cutoff repair/replacement, and meter relocations.
• Provide support to the Metering Department encompassing water meter reading, miscellaneous work order fulfillment, re-reads, and water service disconnection/reconnection.
• Follow city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in plumbing or similar technical roles requiring work with water systems.

• Experience with water meter operation and maintenance.

• Valid driver’s license.
• TCEQ License Class D Water or the ability to obtain within six months.
