As an Aerial Foreman
, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. You believe in doing the job right, being the best, and are up for the challenge.
- Install and/or repair aerial CATV, coaxial and fiber cable
- Place, relocate and remove poles, lines, open‑wire, drop and block wire to maintain efficient operation of customers' facilities
- Set up a safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers
- Review project plans, specifications and installation instructions to ensure the project is built according to the approved design specifications
- Direct the activities on the job site
- Properly fill out necessary documentation, record time for the crew, etc.
- Communicate with the Area Supervisor or Manager
- Act as the lead for in‑house crews
- Oversee daily schedules, delivery schedules and daily productivity of the aerial crew
About You:
- Safety is a part of your day to day
- You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
- You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands‑on approach to your work
- You are looking for long‑term projects
- You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team
- Embrace the challenge of coaching and mentoring your team
- 3+ years of experience in telecommunications construction
- Knowledge of the telecom construction industry and techniques such as coax splicing, fiber splicing, directional drilling, aerial and underground construction, etc.
- Comfortable working in a bucket truck and climbing poles
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements
- Strong knowledge of CATV building practices and CTV/Aerial field equipment
- OSHA 10 training, CPR, and flagging certification
- Operates a digger bucket truck
- Can lift up to 70 lbs.
- Can work and climb up to 35 feet
- Can read and understand work orders and cable prints
- Can work on call, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Comfortable working under pressure and in a fast‑paced, quickly changing environment
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Demonstrated leadership skills
