Are you a calm, resilient and supportive Behaviour Mentor looking for a new role from September?

Monarch Education are working with secondary schools across Bristol who are looking for dedicated Behaviour Mentors to support pupils with their learning, behaviour and personal development from the start of the new academic year.

The role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may require additional support with behaviour, engagement, emotional regulation and confidence in school. You will support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping them stay focused, access learning and develop positive routines.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Behaviour Mentor, teaching assistant, youth worker, sports coach, support worker or someone with strong experience supporting young people who is looking to make a positive impact within a secondary school setting.

You will be:
  • Supporting pupils with behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation
  • Working with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
  • Helping pupils access learning and stay focused in lessons
  • Promoting positive behaviour, confidence and resilience
  • Supporting classroom teachers with behaviour management strategies
  • Building positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
  • Responding calmly and consistently to challenging behaviour
  • Supporting pupils during transitions, break times and other parts of the school day where required
  • Following safeguarding procedures and school expectations at all times
We are looking for someone who is:
  • Confident supporting young people in a secondary school or similar setting
  • Calm, patient and resilient when managing challenging behaviour
  • Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils
  • A clear communicator with a consistent and professional approach
  • Organised, reliable and adaptable
  • Positive, enthusiastic and proactive
  • Passionate about supporting young people's wellbeing, confidence and development
  • Able to work effectively as part of a wider pastoral or school support team
Requirements:
  • Experience supporting young people, ideally within education, youth work, care, mentoring or behaviour support
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willingness to complete registration, compliance and safeguarding checks
