* Position Overview:

* This role supports the Accounts Payable function by processing invoices, resolving discrepancies, maintaining documentation, and ensuring timely, accurate payments. It also assists with period-end close activities, audits, and various accounting projects as needed.

** Your Day to Day as an AP Accounting Clerk:*
* + Accounts Payable duties include reviewing Invoices for appropriate documentation and approvals in accordance with payment terms, prior to payment.

+ Scan invoices into A/P automation tool/Process 3-way P.O. match invoices.

+ Respond to employee and vendor inquiries, research and correct discrepancies.

+ Maintain files and documentation in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.

+ Assist in month, quarter and year-end closing.

+ Assist with internal and external audit in relation to Accounts Payable audit requests.

+ Assist with other accounting projects as needed.

* Required Qualifications:

*
* + Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field.

+ Minimum 2 years' experience in A/P. Related experience may be considered.

+ Must have a strong work ethic.

+ Must be well organized and able to follow standard procedures.

+ Proficient in Excel, Word, AP Automation Tools.

+ Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills.

+ Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.

+ Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

+ Must be a U.S. citizen.

+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
