Major Job Responsibilities
This is a customer service‑focused position that provides creative photo solutions for multiple Metro departments and agencies. The role requires strong collaboration skills, responsiveness to client needs, and the ability to translate requests into high‑quality visual products that meet diverse operational and communication goals. This position participates in all activities necessary for the pre‑production, production, and post‑production of photography and media projects for ITS Photographic Services – Metro Nashville Network (MNN).
In addition, this position works directly with the technical aspect of capturing, editing, and managing photographic content, as well as supporting MNN video and media coverage needs as assigned. A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of photography skills and styles is required.

As part of Information Technology Services (ITS), a 24/7/365 operation, this position works a flex schedule of 40 hours per week, based on department needs and incoming requests. This position may be designated as a Critical Required Employee (CRE), requiring availability during emergency events and flexibility to work outside of standard business hours.
TYPICAL DUTIES Photography & Media ProductionCapture high-quality, visually appealing images using proper composition, lighting, and technical settings. Plan and coordinate photo shoots, including scouting locations, arranging props/backgrounds, and working with subjects to ensure successful outcomes. Provide occasional drone photography/videography support when needed.
Post‑ProductionReview, select, and edit images using Windows‑based software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Perform retouching, color correction, cropping, resizing, and other enhancements to meet MNN quality standards. Organize, back up, and maintain a well‑structured file system for easy retrieval and future use.
Equipment ManagementMaintain cameras, lenses, lighting, drones, and accessories in good working condition. Perform basic troubleshooting, repairs, or replacements as needed. Stay current on photographic technology and industry best practices.
Collaboration & DocumentationAssist with Metro Nashville Network coverage of meetings, events, and special projects as assigned. Support team efforts with written reports, documentation, and process updates. Participate in meetings related to departmental projects, financial planning, or operational review.
Customer Service & CommunicationWork effectively with internal departments and clients to understand needs. Respond to requests promptly and track assignments to completion. IS Media Technician – Photographic Services (MNN). Communicate technical details in clear, non‑technical language when needed.
Required Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesTwo (2) or more years of experience in professional photography, including lighting, equipment management, editing, and portfolio delivery. Demonstrated ability to plan, capture, and deliver high‑quality photographic content. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom) or comparable tools. Ability to coordinate with video and broadcast teams for integrated MNN productions.
Licenses/Certifications Required- Valid Class ‘D’ Driver’s License
