Position:
Associate Instructor, Culinary Arts (MCCX) at Tennessee Board of Regents (T ). Institution: TCAT-Oneida/Huntsville. Campus location:
Morgan County Correctional Complex, Wartburg, TN.
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Oneida/Huntsville is accepting applications for the position of Associate Instructor, Culinary Arts located at the Morgan County Correctional Complex, Wartburg, TN.
Job Duties- Teach and instruct rehabilitation and correctional students in technical training to prepare them to re-enter the job market in the culinary arts field through lecture, demonstrations, and/or audio visual aids.
- Prepare syllabi of courses of study with detailed lesson plans.
- Accurately prepare and submit all required documentation/reports by set deadlines.
- Administer tests to evaluate student progress.
- Maintain all student academic records related to the program (i.e., grades, attendance, discipline, etc.).
- Attend workshops and/or other training programs to remain current in the Culinary Arts industry.
- Maintain close communication with correctional personnel and TCAT Oneida/Huntsville administration.
- Ensure compliance with all T , institutional, state, and federal requirements.
- Associate Degree or Diploma from an accredited technical training program in Culinary Arts, Family and Consumer Science, or any other field related to the hospitality industry.
- Three years of related work experience in the Culinary Arts, nutrition, or dietetics.
- Serv Safe instructor/proctor certification.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Teaching experience.
- American Culinary Federation certification.
- Extensive knowledge in the areas of food science, nutrition, sanitation/safety, basic food preparation, professional cooking and meal service, international cuisine, and the management of food production and service in the hospitality industry.
- Ability to organize and provide theoretical and practical instructional activities to enable students to compete in the Culinary Arts job market.
- Organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office applications, email, etc.).
- Indication of willingness to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and business/industry personnel.
- Commitment to remaining current with industry practices through professional development activities.
- Ability to travel and/or work after school activities such as graduation, in‑service, etc.
- Strong, moral character, mature attitude, and stable personality.
Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
