Reporting to the Writing Center Coordinator, the Writing Center Advanced Tutor is responsible for tutoring students on an appointment and walk-in basis. The Advanced Tutor is responsible for general office administration of the Writing Center, which may include schedule and calendar maintenance, training work-study students, and general on-campus marketing.

• Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
• Assist students with building their writing skills.
• Schedule tutoring appointments as requested.
• Answer phone and email inquiries from students and faculty regarding the Writing Center.
• Assist the Writing Center Coordinator with maintaining office records, scheduling, internal marketing, promotion, and outreach.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in English or a closely related field from an accredited institution
• Experience teaching or tutoring English at the college level

• Master’s degree or higher in English or a closely related field from an accredited institution
• At least two years of experience teaching English at the college level
• Conversational ability or fluency in a second language
