Duties
* Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.
* Plans, organizes, and directs test/system safety engineering, occupational, flight, and weapons safety activities of the organization, ensuring compliance with Air Force and Federal regulatory requirements.
* Serves as a safety advisor to the Wing Commander and all levels of management.
* Represents the Office with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Requirements Conditions of employment

* PCS expenses if authorized will be paid IAW JTR and Air Force Regulations. This is a Centrally Managed position under the Scientist and Engineer Career Field.

EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 1 year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level or band or equivalent pay scale providing supervision, leadership, administrative, technical guidance and functional oversight of occupational, test, systems, weapons, and flight safety as well as the primary Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for the safety programs of multiple contractors. It may have been gained in the private sector, volunteer service, military service, and/or government service, etc.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate would have at least 4 years of relevant T&E experience and safety experience (in either test, flight safety, occupational or weapons disciplines); with previous Contractor Officer Representative (COR) experience and an advanced degree in engineering. KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1 . Expert knowledge of the safety engineering field for the complex, high-risk programs related to the development, acquisition, and sustainment of agency-wide aeronautical weapon systems, subsystems, and equipment.
2. Knowledge of policies and procedures for accomplishment of Flight Safety, Weapon Safety, Ground Safety, Range Safety, and System Safety programs. Comprehensive knowledge of Department of Labor and Air Force occupational safety and health standards, procedures, methods, techniques and regulations sufficient to assist subordinates in identifying and evaluating complex safety and occupational hazards in a wide variety of high safety risk activities involving industrial operations.
Comprehensive knowledge of industrial procedures and work processes, aircraft ground operations, shop machinery design, material handling procedures, toxic and hazardous materials, and compressed gases sufficient to ensure employees correctly develop, organize and execute comprehensive surveillance and evaluation programs.
3. Knowledge of personnel, EEO, health, personal safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
5. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
6. Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
