At our Charleston site, we are currently looking for a Technical Manager, Process and Development to be a part of our growing team.

What you will do:

The Technical Manager is responsible for managing process support and development engineering services by initiating, conducting, and tracking process changes and improvements to produce hyperpure polycrystalline silicon. This position ensures competitive capabilities with respect to output, cost, quality, and EHSS by executing the technology strategy of the business division.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage a team of process development engineers responsible for production support and process development improvements of the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and H2-recovery systems producing hyper-pure polysilicon.
  • Initiate, conduct, and manage projects focused on evaluating, improving, and validating processes, procedures, equipment, and supplies.
  • Participate in or lead interdepartmental teams to ensure operations and engineering are supported in identifying and correcting deviations from standard processes and quality.
  • Ensure continuous alignment of global and local business targets and technology strategy projects among corresponding departments.
  • Conduct developmental activities with the Depo Development Team Members.

What we need from you:

  • B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical degree; M.S or Ph.D. preferred.
  • A minimum of 7+ years of related experience with B.S., 5+ with M.S., 3+ with Ph.D.
  • 3-7+ years of professional experience in the chemical industry.
  • 3+ years of managerial experience.
  • Ability to effectively lead and manage a team of development engineers.
  • Demonstrated organization and communication skills.
  • A leader and team player, collaborating with various departments and levels of the organization.
  • Experience in six sigma methodology (Green Belt or higher) is preferred.
  • Experience in fluid mechanics/dynamics and/or chemical vapor deposition process is strongly preferred.
