The Center on Aging and Health is seeking a compassionate and dependable In Home Caregiver to join our team in Erwin. This entry-level, full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults and individuals who need support in their own homes. As an In Home Caregiver, you will work on-site providing essential hands-on care, companionship, and assistance with daily living activities, helping clients maintain their independence and quality of life.

At the Center on Aging and Health, we are committed to delivering personalized, person-centered care within the Hospital/Health Care industry. As part of our caregiving team, you will support clients with daily routines, monitor their health and safety, and build trusting relationships with clients and their families. This role is ideal for someone beginning their career in health care who wants to grow professionally while contributing to a supportive and respectful environment.

This full-time, on-site position is based in Erwin and offers a meaningful career path in home care. Compensation is provided in USD on a yearly basis, with a supportive team and opportunities for professional development in the growing health care field.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding according to dietary needs and preferences
  • Provide medication reminders and help clients follow their care plans
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, and keeping living spaces tidy
  • Monitor clients’ physical and emotional well-being and report changes to supervisors or family members
  • Accompany clients to appointments, errands,and social activities when needed
  • Encourage clients to stay engaged in safe physical activities, hobbies,and conversations
  • Maintain clear, accurate records of care provided and observations
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families,and the broader health care team
  • Respect each client’s privacy, dignity, and personal preferences at all times
  • Ensure a safe home environment by identifying potential hazards and following safety protocols
  • Uphold the Center on Aging and Health’s standards of care, compassion,and confidentiality
Requirements
  • Entry-level role; no prior professional caregiving experience required
  • Genuine passion for helping older adults and supporting their independence
  • Strong interpersonal, communication,and active listening skills
  • Ability to follow care plans, instructions,and safety guidelines accurately
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy work ethic
  • Physical ability to assist with mobility, light lifting,and standing or walking for extended periods
  • Empathy, patience,and a calm, compassionate approach to caregiving
