Business Partner (Hollow Metal Business Unit)-McKenzie, TN This role will require onsite support and is not available to be worked remotely.

As the Hollow Metal Business Unit HR Business Partner, you will provide support to the organization to enable development and engagement for the manufacturing function for the McKenzie, TN, Irving, TX, and additional service center sites and teams. You will work closely with teams of people across the organization and will gain a full understanding of how to support the business’ strategies through people.

You will be responsible for the positive labor relations, employee engagement action planning, supporting salary recruitment, talent development, performance management, investigations, compensation and merit review, and supporting HR within the assigned value stream. This role will be based out of McKenzie, TN and supporting multiple sites in the business unit.

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

What You Will Do:
  • Provides day-to-day coaching to leadership on a variety of actions to include employee relations issues, policy interpretation and application; talent management and development; and organizational design consultation.
  • Act as the primary HR point of contact for union-related matters.
  • Drives employee relations solutions.
  • Assists with and delivers training for managers and staff on contract interpretation, grievance procedures, and labor relations best practices.
  • Lead the organization’s response to contract grievances, prepare written responses and facilitating resolution with union partners.
  • Collaborate with Labor Relations and legal counsel to ensure consistent application of collective bargaining agreements and promote constructive union-management collaboration.
  • Serve as the lead investigator for workplace investigations, including harassment, discrimination, and misconduct allegations.
  • Analyze and solve employee relations issues, including conflicts and complaints.
  • Contribute to HR initiatives such as employee engagement, policy development, organizational change, and systems improvements.
  • Collaborates Across Teams:
    Works effectively across departments and functions to implement people-centered strategies. Contributes to a team-based culture that emphasizes shared problem-solving and mutual accountability.
  • Identifying training needs and assist business leaders in aligning training programs with business objectives.
  • Conduct weekly staffing planning meetings.
  • Work with business leaders to solve conflicts and help facilitate positive employee relations, maintain a good working environment, build morale, and minimize unwanted turnover.
  • Assists with and leads employee engagement related initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • 3+ years in demonstrated experience as an HR business partner with thorough knowledge of labor management and experience in a union environment preferred.
  • Full understanding of all HR functions and best practices.
  • Extensive experience with HRIS systems, Workday a plus.
  • Payroll and timekeeping experience.
