Position

POSITION: Bakery Technician
REPORTS TO: Plant Director

We are looking for a Bakery Technician to join our Plant Operations team at our Rossville Plant! The role works closely with the R&D and Operations teams to support standardization in our operations, as well as product development and commercialization efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot dough issues on the production line.
  • Deliver consistent training to the production team.
  • Conduct bake tests for new and existing products or ingredients.
  • Formulate new and existing products to meet objectives.
  • Coordinate and supervise production batch testing.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting to the production team, ensuring standards are followed.
  • Prepare accurate detailed reports including test methods, results, observations and recommendations.
  • Observe the baking lines and maintain detailed records of all documents.
  • Order and manage inventory of lab supplies and reagents.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.
Requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of traditional bakery ingredients and products.
  • Understanding of bakery production principles, processes, and equipment.
  • Strong baking skills.
  • Solid computer skills including MS Office.
  • Prior experience in a commercial bakery or food production facility.
Desired Qualifications
  • Product development and R&D experience.
  • Prior education from a recognized baking institute or relevant baking certification.
  • Prior trainer experience, Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma.
  • Ability to create and manage databases.

Additional Information
  • May be required to work variable shifts from Sun to Thurs.
