Tool Maker GENERAL SUMMARY OF THE JOB:
With minimal supervision, the necessary tool room equipment for the purpose of making or reworking dies and tooling for headers and secondary equipment is operated. Continuous Improvement of processes and products is an ongoing function of this position.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to operate all tool room equipment with limited supervision to meet necessary quality and productivity requirements.
• Ability to read most manufacturing and tooling prints and select and prepare necessary tools to meet print tolerances. Utilize most of the tool room inspection equipment.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work area. Follows company safety guidelines.
• Performs responsibilities for the Environmental Management System.
• Performs preventative maintenance when required. Trains less experienced employees. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

REQUIRED:

• Strong human relations skills.
• Fluent in English (both strong verbal and written communication skills).

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

• Heading or tooling experience

TOOLS USED:

• Most tool room equipment (lathes, bench grinders, tool bit grinders, reamer grinders, and cut-off saws).
• Most inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, comparators, gage pins, bore gages, and indicators )
