Welder and Metal Fabricator Louisville, TN

Full-time welding and fabrication work at Krawlers Edge, building roll cages and chassis parts for  Early Broncos just outside Knoxville.

From $16/hr full-time, Monday to Friday day shift

• Apprentice: a few years of welding or fabrication experience, and you want to learn our specialty from an experienced master welder and fabricator.
• Master: several years of TIG and MIG welding, plus strong fabrication and sheet metal skills.

At least 1 year of welding experience is preferred, and so are certifications. We provide the tools and on-the-job training in a fast-paced, climate-controlled shop.

• Fabricate parts from blueprints and fixtures by cutting, grinding and welding
• Set up welders, plasma cutters, notchers and tubing benders
• MIG and TIG weld
• Read blueprints, build sheets, travelers and work orders
• Use jigs and fixtures to build the same part right every time
• Work with die grinders, cutting wheels, grinders, pry bars, chisels and clamps
• Check parts with tape measures, calipers, gauges and string checks
• Follow our first and last article inspections and every safety rule, including PPE
• Keep the shop organized and help track material in our kanban system

Laying a good weld bead is only about 35 to 40 percent of the job. The rest is cutting, grinding and shaping the part, and solving the problems that come up along the way. Every call in the shop weighs three things, in this order.

Have the blueprint, fixture and sample piece on hand any time you build, so every part meets our standard.
