The Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.
Qualifications- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- College Diploma in Nursing
- Provide and facilitate competent health care of patients and families in area of practice
- Ensure adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice
- Ensure documentation of care is complete and accurate
- Provide health and wellness education to individuals and groups
- Act as preceptor and support the development of other staff and healthcare students
- Provide leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes
- Assist Nursing Supervisor/coordinator in the development of departmental standing orders
- Conduct telephone triage for any patient or parent who calls in
- Triage patients ranging from birth through the lifespan
- Notify patients of test results for any performed testing
- Provide medication refills for any medications, including those related to hypertension, diabetes, COPD, or other diagnoses affecting patients at any age
- Perform nurse visits for injections and blood pressure checks across all age ranges
- Triage patients in office who walk in
- Facilitate communication between Family Practice, Adult Medicine, or Pediatric providers and patients

The compensation range for this position is $30.39 per hour – $52.27 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
